1 00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:10,000 [Music] 2 00:00:10,000 --> 00:00:15,920 Hello and welcome to our podcast Talk Gruesome to Me, where we talk about movies and shows 3 00:00:15,920 --> 00:00:19,800 that cover true crime, paranormal, and horror. 4 00:00:19,800 --> 00:00:21,600 I am one of your hosts, Dawn. 5 00:00:21,600 --> 00:00:27,400 I am currently located in Los Angeles and I think I'm pretty well versed in the horror 6 00:00:27,400 --> 00:00:28,400 genre. 7 00:00:28,400 --> 00:00:31,000 Especially those 80s classics. 8 00:00:31,000 --> 00:00:36,720 A quick fun fact about me, I have a very extensive crystal collection. 9 00:00:36,720 --> 00:00:37,720 Hello, I'm Amy. 10 00:00:37,720 --> 00:00:42,280 I'm from Kentucky and my area of expertise for this podcast is paranormal. 11 00:00:42,280 --> 00:00:44,000 A few fun facts about me. 12 00:00:44,000 --> 00:00:45,000 I'm an empath. 13 00:00:45,000 --> 00:00:49,120 I collect old dolls and you know, I've never flown on an airplane. 14 00:00:49,120 --> 00:00:50,440 Can you believe that? 15 00:00:50,440 --> 00:00:54,920 Now Dawn and I are also obsessed with true crime, so here we are. 16 00:00:54,920 --> 00:00:57,520 Talk Gruesome to Me. 17 00:00:57,520 --> 00:01:05,160 Welcome in this week we did have intentions of carrying on our Ed Gein series. 18 00:01:05,160 --> 00:01:13,200 With we were looking at Psycho, we were looking at Silence of the Lams and those two we weren't 19 00:01:13,200 --> 00:01:16,960 able to find on anything so that was a no go. 20 00:01:16,960 --> 00:01:18,680 We could not watch those. 21 00:01:18,680 --> 00:01:26,200 Dawn though went out on a limb and she found us something a little bit different to watch 22 00:01:26,200 --> 00:01:31,760 and I am actually really glad that she did. 23 00:01:31,760 --> 00:01:36,160 We watched, I've got all this wrote down so I can give you because it was kind of hard to 24 00:01:36,160 --> 00:01:39,080 find and I want to make sure that you're able to find it. 25 00:01:39,080 --> 00:01:41,600 We watched 3 on a Meathook. 26 00:01:41,600 --> 00:01:46,640 I know that the name will make you laugh and it sounds like something that you probably 27 00:01:46,640 --> 00:01:49,600 would not want to watch but trust me. 28 00:01:49,600 --> 00:01:53,800 The writer and the director is William Gerdler. 29 00:01:53,800 --> 00:01:56,360 I said that correct didn't I Gerdler? 30 00:01:56,360 --> 00:01:57,360 I think so. 31 00:01:57,360 --> 00:02:04,880 Okay we think we're saying that correct but William Gerdler, he is pretty I guess genius because 32 00:02:04,880 --> 00:02:10,480 I'm going to say that I did really like this even though I didn't think that I would. 33 00:02:10,480 --> 00:02:17,320 But this when you start to you're going to search 3 on a Meat hook, 1972 and you're 34 00:02:17,320 --> 00:02:23,240 going to want to make sure that you put in full movie and that is on YouTube. 35 00:02:23,240 --> 00:02:29,560 I'm not sure if you can find it anywhere else but we was able to find it there and you have 36 00:02:29,560 --> 00:02:38,760 to put let me repeat again 3 on a Meathook, 1972 full movie when you search because 37 00:02:38,760 --> 00:02:42,680 it's not easy to find if you do not do that. 38 00:02:42,680 --> 00:02:48,960 Now I'm going to quit rambling and Dawn is going to play probably one of our favorite clips 39 00:02:48,960 --> 00:02:56,520 from this movie and we're going to like I guess let you see what it's kind of about before 40 00:02:56,520 --> 00:02:57,520 we get into it. 41 00:02:57,520 --> 00:03:02,080 I'm not taking it back on that road this time of night to do it. 42 00:03:02,080 --> 00:03:07,360 I don't want to be unreasonable but you know what happens to you when you get around women 43 00:03:07,360 --> 00:03:09,080 and it must never happen again. 44 00:03:09,080 --> 00:03:13,080 It ain't gonna happen, probably. 45 00:03:13,080 --> 00:03:17,880 And we're going to go fix and stuff to eat and I'll show them to the rooms. 46 00:03:17,880 --> 00:03:21,160 Alright, it's 1972. 47 00:03:21,160 --> 00:03:22,160 Right. 48 00:03:22,160 --> 00:03:27,120 It first started playing and I kind of seen the picture. 49 00:03:27,120 --> 00:03:30,740 I started on my phone and I was like this isn't going to work because the picture is not 50 00:03:30,740 --> 00:03:34,920 the best on the phone so I do suggest that you watch it on a TV. 51 00:03:34,920 --> 00:03:39,360 But when I first started watching it I was like okay so the first thing that I'm going 52 00:03:39,360 --> 00:03:45,360 to probably say to her when we get done is what the “bleep” did you asked me to watch. 53 00:03:45,360 --> 00:03:52,640 But the more I watched I kind of liked it and I'm going to say that William Gerdler he is 54 00:03:52,640 --> 00:03:58,680 kind of genius because I didn't see what happened happening. 55 00:03:58,680 --> 00:04:07,280 I did but the thing I liked about it was I felt like I was watching some old art film or 56 00:04:07,280 --> 00:04:08,280 something. 57 00:04:08,280 --> 00:04:11,880 I actually the scenes, the killing scenes I really liked. 58 00:04:11,880 --> 00:04:18,600 Yeah, I mean, and remember like Dawn said and I will, I reminded you several times on how 59 00:04:18,600 --> 00:04:19,840 to put it in correctly. 60 00:04:19,840 --> 00:04:22,600 We're talking about 1972 here. 61 00:04:22,600 --> 00:04:31,200 But for what it was worth it's exactly what you would expect a little slasher film that 62 00:04:31,200 --> 00:04:34,200 is not overly gory. 63 00:04:34,200 --> 00:04:35,400 I mean let's just say it. 64 00:04:35,400 --> 00:04:37,400 It wasn't like too much blood everywhere. 65 00:04:37,400 --> 00:04:42,880 I don't think it was just enough for those of you who don't like to watch the real bloody 66 00:04:42,880 --> 00:04:45,360 and gory films. 67 00:04:45,360 --> 00:04:51,120 Yeah, and the Ed Gein tie-in is so minimal. 68 00:04:51,120 --> 00:04:58,480 You know we talked in the past about how Amy and I necessarily didn't like how Monsters 69 00:04:58,480 --> 00:05:05,640 or any of the other documentaries or whatever shows that people do where they name someone 70 00:05:05,640 --> 00:05:13,200 like for instance monsters Ed Gein, but it's less than 50% factual. 71 00:05:13,200 --> 00:05:17,920 This didn't name him as being correlated with him. 72 00:05:17,920 --> 00:05:23,680 It did come up when I googled movies with an Ed Gein tie-in. 73 00:05:23,680 --> 00:05:27,480 We don't want to spoil it so we won't tell you that part. 74 00:05:27,480 --> 00:05:36,360 But it was so minimal it wasn't someone somewhere said this is tied to Ed Gein. 75 00:05:36,360 --> 00:05:43,800 It wasn't the person responsible for making this movie so it wasn't an actual tie-in but 76 00:05:43,800 --> 00:05:48,000 enough to where we could include it in this trio. 77 00:05:48,000 --> 00:05:49,840 And could actually watch it. 78 00:05:49,840 --> 00:05:55,440 But yeah I mean it's not when you're sitting there and you're watching it you wouldn't think 79 00:05:55,440 --> 00:05:59,360 oh well this is another Ed Gein story. 80 00:05:59,360 --> 00:06:04,040 No but if somebody at the end said you know what I think that might have been based on the 81 00:06:04,040 --> 00:06:05,040 Ed Gein story. 82 00:06:05,040 --> 00:06:08,120 You'd be like okay yeah I see that. 83 00:06:08,120 --> 00:06:15,720 So I give props to William you did a good job and you guys also know like she said how 84 00:06:15,720 --> 00:06:22,960 we feel when it comes to using someone's name and that would be most importantly victims 85 00:06:22,960 --> 00:06:29,480 and anyone in the community or families that have been affected by what has happened. 86 00:06:29,480 --> 00:06:33,880 And then also we're gonna add in the person who did commit the crime because you don't 87 00:06:33,880 --> 00:06:38,800 want to take what they are their name and add just all kinds of junk to it. 88 00:06:38,800 --> 00:06:44,320 That's not doing it any justice and I think like I've said before it's sick but with this 89 00:06:44,320 --> 00:06:50,480 right here there were no names attached and it was yeah I was I was down for it. 90 00:06:50,480 --> 00:06:56,200 Well and that's partly why I didn't want to watch Texas Chainsaw or Silence of the Lambs 91 00:06:56,200 --> 00:07:01,280 because those are people always correlate those with Ed Gein. 92 00:07:01,280 --> 00:07:06,640 I mean I've just seen those movies so many times but this one just came out of nowhere and 93 00:07:06,640 --> 00:07:10,240 I was like you know what let's do it. 94 00:07:10,240 --> 00:07:14,640 I mean it was fun to watch and I don't mean yeah I was kind of gross but I don't mean it 95 00:07:14,640 --> 00:07:16,520 was fun to watch in a way like that. 96 00:07:16,520 --> 00:07:24,960 I mean it was fun to find something new that I don't think if I would have even went by 97 00:07:24,960 --> 00:07:30,120 that in YouTube when I was scanned and I don't think that I would have clicked on that. 98 00:07:30,120 --> 00:07:40,880 So with Dawn making me watch it I actually got doing like did so yeah I bet I would be shocked 99 00:07:40,880 --> 00:07:44,360 if anyone that hears this has ever seen this. 100 00:07:44,360 --> 00:07:45,280 Oh I agree. 101 00:07:45,280 --> 00:07:53,280 So yeah I don't want to get too much into it but it has the Ed Gein style like I said name 102 00:07:53,280 --> 00:07:55,160 was not attached to it. 103 00:07:55,160 --> 00:08:04,560 It has that style of the creepy um individual living in a creepy house trying with the parent 104 00:08:04,560 --> 00:08:12,440 and there's a kind of a twist there but the parent trying to keep them more in a reclusive 105 00:08:12,440 --> 00:08:15,840 state where they're not around a lot of different people. 106 00:08:15,840 --> 00:08:18,160 There is murder. 107 00:08:18,160 --> 00:08:21,960 There is a meat hook. 108 00:08:21,960 --> 00:08:22,960 Meat hooks. 109 00:08:22,960 --> 00:08:33,640 So yeah it kind of does have that but it's made up story with just maybe the thought of 110 00:08:33,640 --> 00:08:40,760 that maybe I don't know but yeah it doesn't scream Ed Gein or say Ed Gein and it's just something 111 00:08:40,760 --> 00:08:46,520 that you can watch and not think well that's just plain stupid that didn't even happen. 112 00:08:46,520 --> 00:08:50,920 And the house actually reminded me of the house in Texas Chainsaw Massacar. 113 00:08:50,920 --> 00:08:51,920 True. 114 00:08:51,920 --> 00:08:52,920 Which was funny. 115 00:08:52,920 --> 00:08:54,240 Yeah. 116 00:08:54,240 --> 00:08:59,800 And I don't know I do want you guys to watch it because like I said when the parental roles 117 00:08:59,800 --> 00:09:06,320 or kind of the or the I should say the makeup of the home is just different. 118 00:09:06,320 --> 00:09:09,960 Yeah I like that too because at first I was like huh. 119 00:09:09,960 --> 00:09:12,680 But yeah I like that. 120 00:09:12,680 --> 00:09:13,680 I liked it. 121 00:09:13,680 --> 00:09:15,680 Oh we said it at the same time. 122 00:09:15,680 --> 00:09:20,920 And also if you like boobs there's a lot of boobs in this movie. 123 00:09:20,920 --> 00:09:22,400 Yeah there was some boobs. 124 00:09:22,400 --> 00:09:27,080 I feel like that kind of goes with any 70s horror but this one seemed to have a little extra. 125 00:09:27,080 --> 00:09:29,800 I was like do people is it different now? 126 00:09:29,800 --> 00:09:32,240 Like I wouldn't skinny dip with my friends. 127 00:09:32,240 --> 00:09:33,240 I mean maybe I would. 128 00:09:33,240 --> 00:09:34,440 I don't know. 129 00:09:34,440 --> 00:09:37,280 But times are different than though too. 130 00:09:37,280 --> 00:09:42,600 You don't see as many people or I mean maybe I'm just out of touch because I just you know 131 00:09:42,600 --> 00:09:45,160 I don't do much of that kind of stuff. 132 00:09:45,160 --> 00:09:51,120 But you don't hear of as much people going out and skinny dip anymore like you used to do 133 00:09:51,120 --> 00:09:52,120 you. 134 00:09:52,120 --> 00:09:53,120 Or am I wrong? 135 00:09:53,120 --> 00:09:54,120 I don't know. 136 00:09:54,120 --> 00:09:55,120 I'm not sure. 137 00:09:55,120 --> 00:09:56,120 I don't know. 138 00:09:56,120 --> 00:09:57,120 I'm none of us do. 139 00:09:57,120 --> 00:09:58,120 No. 140 00:09:58,120 --> 00:10:03,160 I'd like to see Tim and Carlee and then you and Evan and me and Shannon and going for a dip. 141 00:10:03,160 --> 00:10:04,160 Yeah. 142 00:10:04,160 --> 00:10:05,160 None of us do. 143 00:10:05,160 --> 00:10:07,440 Excuse me if you are a skinny dipper. 144 00:10:07,440 --> 00:10:11,240 No problem with that but do you go naked? 145 00:10:11,240 --> 00:10:15,080 No but I'm totally going off topic. 146 00:10:15,080 --> 00:10:23,560 Evan's family they were nudists so until he and his cousins got of an age where you start 147 00:10:23,560 --> 00:10:25,200 growing hair and stuff. 148 00:10:25,200 --> 00:10:26,240 They all swam. 149 00:10:26,240 --> 00:10:31,080 It like this house that we live in was his grandparents and there's a pool. 150 00:10:31,080 --> 00:10:33,400 They all were naked all the time. 151 00:10:33,400 --> 00:10:39,320 Well can neighbors see you or see like your pool from their places? 152 00:10:39,320 --> 00:10:42,480 No they had a tall redwood fence. 153 00:10:42,480 --> 00:10:45,560 So I was just wondering like if anybody cared or like oh look at them they're over there 154 00:10:45,560 --> 00:10:46,560 at it again. 155 00:10:46,560 --> 00:10:48,200 You know and oh. 156 00:10:48,200 --> 00:10:49,200 No. 157 00:10:49,200 --> 00:10:55,560 But like I do wonder like does anybody skinny dip anymore like do you get naked or do 158 00:10:55,560 --> 00:10:57,920 you just swim with your bathing suits on? 159 00:10:57,920 --> 00:11:00,280 I don't know is that a thing anymore? 160 00:11:00,280 --> 00:11:06,480 Just to be talked about all the time or streaking I dare you to run down the street naked. 161 00:11:06,480 --> 00:11:07,480 Yeah. 162 00:11:07,480 --> 00:11:09,760 I don't think anybody does that anymore. 163 00:11:09,760 --> 00:11:17,600 My friend Rocky his husband and I know a couple of other people that go to a nudist beach 164 00:11:17,600 --> 00:11:19,600 in Hawaii still. 165 00:11:19,600 --> 00:11:21,120 So I know that it's thing. 166 00:11:21,120 --> 00:11:23,280 It's just I haven't been there. 167 00:11:23,280 --> 00:11:29,640 Well it's not going to be good and pleasing with my view but I would like my I could still 168 00:11:29,640 --> 00:11:33,720 wear clothes I buy them so I'd like to go to a nudist beach. 169 00:11:33,720 --> 00:11:34,720 At least once. 170 00:11:34,720 --> 00:11:39,480 Yeah I mean nothing provided but just to like check out the atmosphere. 171 00:11:39,480 --> 00:11:42,520 I don't I mean I don't know they can do what they want to do. 172 00:11:42,520 --> 00:11:45,720 I don't care what they do but I don't know I'd like to go. 173 00:11:45,720 --> 00:11:49,040 You gotta go to Hawaii that's the only one I know. 174 00:11:49,040 --> 00:11:50,680 There's not any around here anymore. 175 00:11:50,680 --> 00:11:52,000 I don't know. 176 00:11:52,000 --> 00:11:53,000 There must 00:28:53,380 I would love to see it cleared up a little bit for just for that. 538 00:28:53,380 --> 00:28:54,380 So I can see everything. 539 00:28:54,380 --> 00:28:56,740 I want to see everything that's around everywhere. 540 00:28:56,740 --> 00:29:01,460 And I couldn't do that when they were scanning the town, which really frustrated me because 541 00:29:01,460 --> 00:29:03,700 I wanted to see what was all in that little town. 542 00:29:03,700 --> 00:29:07,300 So that's the only silly part. 543 00:29:07,300 --> 00:29:08,300 I liked the set. 544 00:29:08,300 --> 00:29:10,260 I liked, I three. 555 00:29:44,820 --> 00:29:49,620 Yeah, but this one, I mean it kept my attention. 556 00:29:49,620 --> 00:29:51,420 Yeah, me too. 557 00:29:51,420 --> 00:30:00,340 I think that you could or William Gerdler could even go as far as to not go crazy with 558 00:30:00,340 --> 00:30:05,580 it, but do three on a meat hook to make an updated version. 559 00:30:05,580 --> 00:30:13,660 I'm down because I mean, were you left the father and the son setting and the mother setting? 560 00:30:13,660 --> 00:30:14,660 You know what I'm saying? 561 00:30:14,660 --> 00:30:16,060 You can still play from that. 562 00:30:16,060 --> 00:30:21,460 I don't, I wouldn't recommend going any farther than a two, but yeah. 563 00:30:21,460 --> 00:30:23,260 It was definitely open-ended. 564 00:30:23,260 --> 00:30:31,980 Yeah, you could do three on a 3 on a Meathook, 2027 or you know, but yeah, I just enjoyed it. 565 00:30:31,980 --> 00:30:36,700 And I think that would be awesome too because you could, you have the mother, father and 566 00:30:36,700 --> 00:30:45,660 the son who they got all different kinds of ways that their life could end up or directions 567 00:30:45,660 --> 00:30:48,060 that their life could end up going in. 568 00:30:48,060 --> 00:30:52,820 You know who likes to film stuff like that is Tim. 569 00:30:52,820 --> 00:30:58,340 We should recruit Tim and see if we can do a part two. 570 00:30:58,340 --> 00:31:01,860 That would be so fun. 571 00:31:01,860 --> 00:31:02,860 So fun. 572 00:31:02,860 --> 00:31:03,860 Now let's do it. 573 00:31:03,860 --> 00:31:07,780 I mean, and how much is some fake blood? 574 00:31:07,780 --> 00:31:08,780 Totally. 575 00:31:08,780 --> 00:31:11,340 Just get some old clothes you don't care about we can have a blast. 576 00:31:11,340 --> 00:31:14,180 I don't know though ours might be gory. 577 00:31:14,180 --> 00:31:17,860 I'm down for any of it, all of it. 578 00:31:17,860 --> 00:31:18,940 That would be so fun. 579 00:31:18,940 --> 00:31:21,620 But who would be our murderous man? 580 00:31:21,620 --> 00:31:22,620 Would it be Tim? 581 00:31:22,620 --> 00:31:23,620 Shannon. 582 00:31:23,620 --> 00:31:24,620 Shannon? 583 00:31:24,620 --> 00:31:25,620 Yeah. 584 00:31:25,620 --> 00:31:26,620 He could do it. 585 00:31:26,620 --> 00:31:27,620 Totally. 586 00:31:27,620 --> 00:31:29,100 I bet Tim would be down. 587 00:31:29,100 --> 00:31:30,620 Or yet Tim. 588 00:31:30,620 --> 00:31:31,620 Haha. 589 00:31:31,620 --> 00:31:32,620 Okay. 590 00:31:32,620 --> 00:31:33,620 I know this episode. 591 00:31:33,620 --> 00:31:35,620 Or probably running out of time anyways, aren't we? 592 00:31:35,620 --> 00:31:36,620 We are. 593 00:31:36,620 --> 00:31:37,620 We only have a couple of minutes left. 594 00:31:37,620 --> 00:31:41,420 But this episode didn't have any format or script. 595 00:31:41,420 --> 00:31:42,980 So it was a little all over the place. 596 00:31:42,980 --> 00:31:46,260 But hey, welcome to our brains. 597 00:31:46,260 --> 00:31:48,380 This is how we do it. 598 00:31:48,380 --> 00:31:54,020 It works best for us when we're talking about things that are important like people that 599 00:31:54,020 --> 00:31:59,660 are missing or people that have been hurt and we don't know who hurt them. 600 00:31:59,660 --> 00:32:06,580 And I have the information in front of me and I can get agencies correct. 601 00:32:06,580 --> 00:32:12,460 I can get family members names correct and dates and times and locations. 602 00:32:12,460 --> 00:32:13,460 Yeah. 603 00:32:13,460 --> 00:32:20,140 This time I just had who wrote this and the rest of it's just get to listen to what I think 604 00:32:20,140 --> 00:32:24,100 and ramble about what we feel in that right date. 605 00:32:24,100 --> 00:32:25,860 That'll be the next episode. 606 00:32:25,860 --> 00:32:28,220 The next one I was working on the script. 607 00:32:28,220 --> 00:32:30,940 So that one will be a little less chaotic. 608 00:32:30,940 --> 00:32:31,940 Yep. 609 00:32:31,940 --> 00:32:33,140 The chaos isn't terrible. 610 00:32:33,140 --> 00:32:34,140 So we're good. 611 00:32:34,140 --> 00:32:35,140 All right. 612 00:32:35,140 --> 00:32:37,140 Two weeks. 613 00:32:37,140 --> 00:32:38,140 We have minisode. 614 00:32:38,140 --> 00:32:39,460 It's true crime. 615 00:32:39,460 --> 00:32:41,980 It's a current story again. 616 00:32:41,980 --> 00:32:44,500 Thanks for listening. 617 00:32:44,500 --> 00:32:48,860 Follow us on social if you're not. 618 00:32:48,860 --> 00:32:57,100 And I will say I had not heard about this case until I seen it come up on Facebook and 619 00:32:57,100 --> 00:32:58,100 I said it to Don. 620 00:32:58,100 --> 00:33:00,100 Don had heard about it. 621 00:33:00,100 --> 00:33:05,220 But I'm going to probably guess that there's going to be a few of you for our mini-sode that 622 00:33:05,220 --> 00:33:06,220 have not. 623 00:33:06,220 --> 00:33:08,380 So yeah, stay tuned for that.
